Is getting a tattoo safe?
Definitely, but safe requires teamwork from both the artist and the client. The artist must work in a clean/sterile environment with the right equipment, and the client must follow the directions given by the artist during the tattoo and afterwards for safe and proper healing.
How much does a tattoo cost?
It depends on the tattoo. Our shop rate is $200 an hour and our shop minimum is $100. We can usually give a quote for smaller pieces, but larger pieces are often charged by the hour.
How much do consultations cost?
Consultations are free. There is no charge to come in and discuss your idea, however if you book a tattoo appointment we do require a non-refundable deposit to hold your spot and/or cover the artist's drawing time. The deposits vary from $50-$300 depending on the size and intricacy of your tattoo. The deposit is applied to the final session of your tattoo. Your deposit is applied to the tattoo but in some larger cases, we will use some of the deposit to only cover drawing time and the rest to hold the appointment slot. This will be clarified at your consultation. We have a 48-hour cancellation policy.
How can I make an appointment?
You can either call the shop at 828-552-3177 to set a consultation or fill out our Appointment Request form here. We can pair you with the best artist for what you are looking to get or you can request one of our artists specifically. They all have various wait times.
What do I need to be prepared for my first tattoo?
For your first tattoo appointment at our shop, regardless if you have been tattooed elsewhere, you will need to bring your valid state issued or military photo i.d. It is also important to get a good night's sleep the evening before and keep yourself hydrated before you get tattooed. Drink lots of water and eat a good meal an hour or 2 before you come in. Don’t get tattooed on an empty stomach! That leads to low blood sugar, which could lead to passing out.
Can I bring my kids with me to my tattoo appointment?
Yes. We are a family business, so well-behaved children are always welcome. However, please keep in mind that this is an adult industry. There is no censorship of language in a tattoo shop nor is the conversation always PG. Some clients might find it uncomfortable getting tattooed in a precarious place on their body when there are wee ones peeking around. Our waiting room is small, and children tend to get bored easily. We ask that when children get fussy, please be respectful of the intense focus our job requires, and take them outside. So that being said, even though they are welcome, you may want to think about a babysitter.
What inks do your artists use?
Mainly Eternal Ink and Dynamic. You can vist their websites for more information.
How far out are your artists booked? Do you take walk-ins?
Some artists are booked out further than others. We are always very happy to take walk-ins if someone is available. For a specific inquiry regarding one of the artists or appointment availability, please give us a call at the shop.
How can I schedule an appointment with Kimi Leger?
Kimi's books are currently closed. Due to the high volume of requests, she has no choice but to be selective about the pieces she chooses to take on. To request an appointment, please email us through the "Contact Us" form on this website. Kimi has become very well known for her cover-ups but feels in order to reach her stylistic goals she is taking a break from cover ups for the most part. She is also not adding on or re-doing to other artists' work.
What methods of payment do you accept?
Cash is always preferred. We accept cash, credit and debit cards. We hope that by accepting cards we make it easier and more convenient for our clients to book appointments with us. For instance, we can take card payments for deposits over the phone. However, due to the high cost of card processing, we charge a 2.83% processing fee. Cash payment is always preferred and greatly appreciated. We do not accept checks.
Can I see my drawing before the appointment?
In most cases no. Our artists are constantly drawing and creating ideas for our clients. We like to take advantage of all the time we have up until your appointment, to make sure everything is as awesome as it can be. You can check out your drawing when you come in for your appointment. Small changes can always be done on the spot but if you wish for a larger change the appointment date may need to be pushed back. However, during your consultation we can get a good idea of what your looking for, to ensure that everything is on point when you come in for the your tattoo.
